Terrie May
Terrie May has been a licensed cosmetologist for 35 years. Has been part owner/manager at a local Bellingham salon for 20 years and now owns May Day Spa-lon. She has loved the industry and knew of her destiny as early as 10 years old. She has completed on stage for hair design color & cuts. She is sought after for wedding hair and make up presentations. She has been on the Washington hair fashion committee in education and served on the Washington Cosmetology board as secretary and the local board in leadership roles.
She has received her make up instruction from Paul Brickner of New York, and continued education out of Vancouver BC, Las Vegas, Oregon, Washington state.
One major Ah Ha moment was when she had 2 or 3 jobs across town. That unbalancing caused her to think instead of traveling across town just travel across the salon and do cosmetologist related services. So the natural progression has moved from hair, color, foiling, straightening, perms, nails, pedicures, waxing and makeup.
So the art of permanent cosmetic is a natural progression for her taking th art of beauty to the next level. She has her certification and training from Penny Rudy CPCT certified in the soft tap method.

Irina Zieche, Aesthetician
I graduated from the Euro Institute of Skin Care in Renton, WA. Since then I have worked both as a medical aesthetician and as a standard aesthetician. I have come to May Day Spa-lon for an opportunity to practice my profession as my experience and training has taught me.  I feel my specialties are waxing, facials, microdermabrasion, and in circulation of the lymphatic drainage, which is a type of gentle massage to encourage the natural circulation of the lymph through the body. I take special pride in providing the best skin care solution for each person I treat, rather than a one size fits all approach that many spas provide.

I was born in Minsk, Belarus, and I moved to Bellingham in 1997. I have been interested in healthcare and aesthetics for most of my life. I have worked many years in the healthcare field before becoming an aesthetician. So this seems to be a perfect marriage of healthcare and skincare.

Stephanie Naylor
My name is Stephanie. I am 26 years old. I have been a licensed Cosmetologist for about 6 years, also certified for 3 years in hair extensions. I've been with May Day Spa-lon going on 3years. I am a cosmetologist on the weekend and a bookkeeper during the week for an oil company. I enjoy both worlds.

I specialize in formal hair and make-up application for any event, from a special high school dance, to a bride's big wedding day. Nothing makes me happier then making someone feel and look their best for their special event. The professional line of make-up I use is mineral based, called Young Blood. Young Blood is a high quality line of make-up.

Abby Burney
I graduated from Bellingham Beauty School in 2003 and have been working at the Regis Corporation since then. At Regis, I was trained in advanced and specialized hair care treatments, hair color: foil techniques, gray coverage, blocking, slicing, weaving, and glitzing, in addition to long hair styling, cutting, and straightening. Formal and wedding up-styles is also a love.  Waxing and eyebrow shaping and tinting is also available.

I choose to come to MayDay with the aspiration to develop my full potential in the cosmetology industry. I wish to embrace the other aspects in this huge field including cosmetics, skin care, more waxing techniques, and product knowledge, which can address health care issues.  I enjoy working with these fine experienced cosmetologists here at MayDay Spa-lon.

Yelena Litovchenko
I was born in Russia and my interest in dressing hair began when I was 12 years old. I moved to the United States in 1995 and attended Cosmetology Academy in San Francisco and received my accreditation from Sacramento ,California and worked there before I came to Bellingham . I have been Styling Hair and doing spa services here for the past seven years. I feel I am an experienced cosmetologist, who specializes in custom styling cuts, focusing on razor cutting, working with various textures. Perming if need be to change texture. I also enjoy blonde foiling and weaves and dimensional color Blocking, using Autumn Reds. I can finish your look with eyebrow wax shaping and tinting. I truly love people and enjoy watching the transformation of beauty and self-acceptance inside and out. I especially enjoy my working environment, here at MayDay Spa and Salon. Debbi Garvin
Nail Technician and Aesthethician.  I have been a nail tech for 20 plus years.  My education comes from Lee's international in Bellevue, WA and have added to my repertoire of techniques in acrylic application and design for nails and pedicures.  My most recent education has been in the Shellac and Gelac, 14 day hybrid polish.  I have discovered a very easy technique of removing this product, but it's my guarded secret!

Jane Agard, LMP
I studied massage at Denton Massage School in Arlington, WA and graduated with honors in 2009. In addition to my massage license, I am a Clinical Hypnosist and Certified Life Coach

I have studied and practiced a wide spectrum of massage modalities, including myofascial relesae techniques, deep tissue, swedish massage, energy work and reflexology. I like using well-developed combinations of therapies during a massage session that tailors the massage to the client's specific needs. My goal is to provide beneficial bodywork in a nurturing environment, bringing a compassionate and intuitive approach to the massage sessions, while respecting the uniqueness of your individual needs. I feel that massage is a relaxing, restorative process that reduces pain and stress levels and enhances the body's ability to heal.
